OLD GOLD SOCIETY REUNION

Alumni from graduation classes which have already celebrated their 50th reunion (Class of 1974 and earlier) and their guests are invited to this celebration. 

Friday, October 24

CAMPUS BUS TOURS

Join Georgia Tech Student Ambassadors for a bus tour of campus that includes a stop at Clough Undergraduate Learning Center, the Kendeda Living Building, the John Lewis Students Center, and the Reck Garage.

CAMPUS WALKING TOUR/HIDDEN GEMS TOUR

Join Georgia Tech student Ambassadors for a walking tour highlighting Tech's Hidden Gems — lesser-known treasures tucked in and around campus. The walking tour will meet at the Georgia Tech Alumni House (190 North Avenue).

REUNION COMMITTEE VIP RECEPTION

Members of the 2025 Reunion Committees for the Classes of 1975, 1985, 2000, and 2015 are invited to to celebrate at this special event. The reception will take place at Exhibition Hall (460 4th Street NW). Attire is cocktail. 

BUZZ BASH

Celebrate Georgia Tech tradition and pride at Buzz Bash, the premiere Homecoming event for the whole community! Enjoy pep rally performances, fun food and beverages, photo ops, and a ramblin' good time. This event will take place from 5 – 8 p.m. at Exhibition Hall (460 4th Street NW).

The 40th Reunion Party for the Class of 1985, featuring President Cabrera, will take place during Buzz Bash. Alumni from the Class of 1985 and their guests are invited to meet up with their classmates and celebrate their 40th reunion. The Class of 1985 will be recognized by Institute leadership during the program!

MINI 500

The Mini 500 is an annual eight lap tricycle race that takes place around Peters Parking Deck on the Friday afternoon before the Homecoming football game. It is one of Georgia Tech's most unique traditions put on by Ramblin' Reck Club since 1969. Teams consist of seven members: four racers and three pit crew who are responsible for maintenance and tire rotations. Each team is required to rotate their front tire three times throughout the course of the race, typically following the second, fourth, and sixth laps. All teams attempt to complete all eight laps as quickly as possible without destroying their tricycles. This event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Peters Parking Deck on Fowler Street NW.

AFTER PARTY HOSTED BY THE GEORGIA TECH BLACK ALUMNI ORGANIZATION

After Buzz Bash, keep the party going with the GTBAO! This party is included in your ticket to Buzz Bash. Stick around for late night bites, a DJ, and more fun with fellow alumni. All are welcome!

CAKE RACE

The Freshman Cake Race is a half-mile race held before sunrise on the morning of the Homecoming game every year. This unique long-standing tradition is open to all first year Georgia Tech students. Each first year receives a cupcake at the end of the race. The male and female winners of the race receive a cake and are brought to the field during halftime of the Homecoming game where they are congratulated by the Ramblin' Royalty. This race began in 1911, when the first Cake Race was held as an open cross-country run at Georgia Tech. Two years later, some of the faculty members' wives started baking cakes for the winners, thus creating the name Cake Race. While the race's original purpose was to scout men for the track team, today's participants are encouraged to run, jog, or walk.

RAMBLIN' WRECK PARADE

The Ramblin' Wreck Parade began in 1929 as the Old Ford Race, which occured for two years as a race from Atlanta to Athens. However, in 1932, the administration deemed the event to be unsafe. This led to the adjustment to the Ramblin' Wreck Parade to preserve the tradition. 

The Wreck Parade is held on the Saturday morning of Homecoming and is the last event before the Homecoming football game. The original Wreck Parade consisted of two vehicle categories: fixed bodies and classic cars. Since 1932, the Wreck Parade has been an annual tradition (with the exception of 1942 and 1943 due to the gas shortages during World War II). In 1944, the parade was reintroduced with a third category — contraptions, which are built an powered by students. 

HELLUVA BLOCK PARTY

The pregame excitement of Georgia Tech Football moves to one of our campus', and the city of Atlanta's, most visible and vibrant locations. Helluva Block Party will transform three blocks of North Avenue — beginning at Techwood Drive/Centennial Olympic Park Drive and running to Parkway/Luckie Street — into a pregame street party that builds the energy of Tech Football right up until toe meets leather at the Georgia Tech vs. Syracuse game at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field.
